You look after your face all year round. The body shows up in May and has to be prepped for July. Fair enough, no judgement. But here's the honest truth: with a month's notice you can do a lot. Not everything, but enough to reach the summer feeling the difference — from our salon in Campo Real, 25 minutes from central Madrid.
The pre-summer body plan: what works and in what order
The most common mistake is to start with the most intense treatment on day one. The body responds better when the work happens in phases. This is the protocol we follow at Esencia Estética:
Phase 1: Activate circulation and drain (weeks 1–2)
We start with lymphatic drainage to switch on the system that's been sluggish for months from a sedentary lifestyle and the heat. This step is essential because if drainage isn't working well, later treatments are less effective: the body doesn't clear the waste that gets mobilised during anti-cellulite massage.
Phase 2: Target cellulite and reduce (weeks 3–5)
With the lymphatic system activated, we bring in the anti-cellulite protocol: manual reducing massage + vacuum therapy or pressotherapy + closing drainage. This combination acts on fibrotic tissue, improves microcirculation and reduces the oedema that makes cellulite worse.
Phase 3: Firm and maintain (weeks 6+)
The final treatments focus on firming the skin and consolidating results. This is where the body responds with firmer skin and more even texture.
How many sessions do I need? For visible results before summer, we recommend a minimum of 6–8 sessions with a frequency of twice a week during the first few weeks. It's not fast, but it's real.
Support it at home with: dry brushing before the shower to activate circulation, firming cream with caffeine or retinol on treated areas, plenty of water (2 litres a day) and 30 minutes of daily walking. The treatment does 70%; habits do the rest.
