The golden rule: photosensitivity

When a facial treatment acts strongly on the skin — renews, deep-exfoliates, creates controlled micro-wounds — it leaves the skin photosensitive for weeks. If strong sun follows (June, July, August), the risk is clear: dark spots, irritation, uneven pigmentation that weren't there before.

That's why in May–June we change the strategy. It's not "nothing can be done". It's knowing what yes and what no.

What YES and what NO

✓ YES before summer

  • Hydrafacial (€80). Cleanses, hydrates and adds luminosity without sensitising.
  • Vitamin C (€85). Antioxidant: reinforces the skin against the sun.
  • O2 oxygen dome (€85). Deep hydration. Plump skin.
  • MEICET diagnosis (€15). Maps hidden spots the sun will wake up.
  • Gentle deep-cleansing facial. Without aggressive extractions on sun-exposed areas.
  • Lash lift (€45). So you can go to the beach comfortably without mascara.

✗ NO before summer

  • Chemical peel. Photosensitivity for 3 weeks. Risk of dark spots.
  • Dermapen. Microchannels in the skin. Strong sun is a direct enemy.
  • Dark-spot treatment. Better left for after the holidays.
  • Cryogenic facial mesotherapy. Skin sensitised for the first few days.
  • Aggressive retinol at home. Same story.

The trick many don't know: book a MEICET diagnosis (€15) before summer. The camera detects subdermal spots that aren't visible to the naked eye yet. Knowing what you have, you can protect yourself better and stop the sun from waking them up.

The real 4-week pre-beach plan

If you have a month ahead, this actually works and is safe:

And every day, no skipping: SPF 50+ in the morning, reapply every 2 hours if you're out, wide-brimmed hat and sunglasses. The best in-room skincare is ruined in 1 hour on the beach without protection.

And if you come back from summer with dark spots...

It's fine. September and October are the ideal months for dark-spot treatment (€90), chemical peel (€80), cryogenic mesotherapy (€80) and, for stubborn spots, Alissi Brontè exosomes (€95). With low sun, depigmenting protocols work calmly and results are visible and long-lasting.

Want a plan tailored to you?

The MEICET facial diagnosis costs €15 and it's the best starting point. I'll tell you what you have, what suits you now and what we save for after summer.

Book diagnosis (€15)

The best advice I can give you is honest: protect the skin now, enjoy summer, and in September we'll talk. — Carmen

Frequently asked questions

Can I have a peel before going on holiday? +
No. A peel leaves the skin sensitised and very photosensitive for 2–3 weeks. With strong sun afterwards, there's a serious risk of dark spots and hyperpigmentation. We save it for September–October.
And Dermapen? +
Also a no in the pre-holiday month. It creates microchannels in the skin; the following sun protection has to be strict and strong sun ruins the results. Better in autumn.
What treatments ARE safe before the beach? +
Hydrafacial (€80), Vitamin C (€85), O2 oxygen dome (€85), gentle deep-cleansing facial, lash lift (€45). And MEICET diagnosis (€15) to map spots the sun might wake up.
And after summer, if dark spots have appeared? +
MEICET diagnosis to map what you have (including subdermal spots), then dark-spot treatment (€90) and, if appropriate, chemical peel in September–October. The cool of autumn is ideal for all of that.
