Kobido — Japanese facial massage

How long does a Kobido session last? +
A full Kobido session at Esencia Estética lasts between 60 and 75 minutes. It includes a brief skin analysis, a gentle facial cleanse, the actual Kobido massage (40+ specific manual movements across neck and face) and a personalised finishing mask. This is not an express massage — the time spent on the manoeuvres is what delivers the result.
When do Kobido results become visible? +
From the very first session you'll notice an immediate natural lifting effect (skin looks more oxygenated, luminous, features more defined), though it lasts 3–5 days. For long-lasting results in firmness, jawline definition and reduced facial muscle tension, you need 4 to 6 sessions in the first month. After that, the change is stable.
How often should Kobido be done? +
Starter protocol: 1 session per week for 4–6 weeks to build up the result. Then maintenance every 2 to 4 weeks depending on your goal. This treatment works by accumulation: the more consistency, the better the result. Suitable for all skin types, including sensitive skin. Contraindications: active inflamed acne, active herpes or recent Dermapen.

HIFU 8D Sculptor — non-surgical lifting

What is HIFU 8D? +
HIFU 8D Sculptor is the latest generation of high-intensity focused ultrasound. What's new compared to earlier devices: 8 different depths of action (from 1.5 mm to 13 mm), which allows us to treat the facial SMAS layer, dermis, subcutaneous tissue and fat all with the same equipment. It stimulates natural collagen production (neocollagenesis) and delivers a lifting effect without a scalpel, without anaesthesia and with no downtime. Works for both face (eyebrow lift, double chin, jowls) and body (abdomen, arms, thighs).
How long does the HIFU 8D effect last? +
The effect of a full session lasts between 12 and 18 months. First results are visible at 4–6 weeks (when neocollagenesis kicks in), and optimum results are reached at 2–3 months. It's not magic: the firmness gained depends on the starting condition of your skin. For clients over 55 or with very advanced skin laxity, we recommend 2 sessions spaced 6–8 months apart for optimal results.
Is HIFU painful? +
You'll feel a brief, intermittent warmth as the applicator passes, especially at the deepest levels (deep SMAS planes). It's tolerable for most people and does not require anaesthesia. In more sensitive areas (temples, jawline) we lower the intensity and work progressively. Slight redness may remain for 24–48 h after the session, but there is no downtime — you can return to your normal day as soon as you leave the centre.

Diode laser hair removal

How many laser sessions will I need? +
Typically 6 to 8 sessions spaced 4–8 weeks apart depending on the body area, until the hair is very fine or disappears. The laser only destroys follicles in the active growth phase, and each body area has its own cycle. After the initial plan, we recommend 1–2 maintenance sessions per year. We offer closed packages per area — more cost-effective than paying session by session.
Does the laser work on darker skin? +
Yes. Our diode laser is safe for skin phototypes up to IV-V (dark and very dark skin), by adjusting wavelength and intensity. Where the laser does NOT work well is with light blonde, white or red hair — they don't have enough melanin for the laser to detect. If you have dark skin and dark hair, you're an ideal candidate. We confirm suitability during your free initial consultation.
Can I sunbathe during the treatment? +
This is the one non-negotiable rule: no direct sun exposure 15 days before and 15 days after each session. And SPF 50+ every day throughout treatment. Tanned skin has more surface melanin, the laser can't distinguish well between hair and skin, and the risk of burns or spots increases. If you arrive freshly tanned, we'll have to reschedule your session. That's why the ideal time to start a laser plan is October to February.
