You reach September thinking your skin is the same as it was in June and, in natural light, your face tells a different story: new dark spots around the cheekbones, a duller complexion, expression lines that show more, more visible pores. September isn't a month for hiding the problem — it's the month to repair it. And there's a short window from September to November when the skin responds beautifully to deeper treatments. Here's how we run it at Esencia Estética, in Campo Real (25 min from central Madrid).
Why September is the best month to repair
Summer sun damage isn't visible in August: it shows in September. What looked like a "healthy tan" on the beach is actually thicker skin, uneven melanin, low water reserves and oxidised collagen. The good news is that September and October offer three things June doesn't:
- Less direct UV, which allows peels, depigmenting mesotherapy and laser without the risk of new spots.
- More stable routines: back to work, back to school, regular hours. Adherence to multi-session treatments goes up.
- Time ahead: you have 8–9 months until next summer to complete a full cycle of HIFU, laser hair removal or Dermapen with real margin.
The classic September mistake: spotting a new dark patch and buying three depigmenting creams at the chemist. Creams help with maintenance, but they don't erase spots that have been forming for months on their own. What erases them is a combined protocol — and we design that in-clinic once we've seen the skin with real data.
Step 1: MEICET diagnosis (you'll see what your skin is hiding)
Before recommending anything, we run a facial diagnosis with the MEICET camera (€15). It's a professional AI-driven camera that photographs your skin under normal, UV and polarised light. On the screen we see what the naked eye can't: subclinical spots that haven't surfaced yet, pores, superficial wrinkles, texture, hydration, sensitivity. In 15 minutes we know exactly what's going on and which protocol makes sense.
Without this step, any recommendation is guesswork. With it, everything we do afterwards is justified by the real state of your skin.
Step 2: the rescue treatments for this autumn
Depigmenting chemical peel
The fastest tool against new dark spots and post-summer texture. It renews the damaged stratum corneum and reveals fresher layers of skin. Usually 2–3 sessions three to four weeks apart. Not aggressive when dosed well, and results show quickly.
Facial mesotherapy with vitamins and depigmenting actives
Very superficial micro-injections delivering vitamin C, hyaluronic acid, antioxidants and (if there are spots) depigmenting actives such as tranexamic acid or niacinamide. Deep rehydration and visible luminosity in 48 hours. Ideal between peels.
Hydrafacial: express intensive hydration
When you need a rapid reset — an event, back-to-work day, an autumn wedding — Hydrafacial cleanses, exfoliates and rehydrates in a single 45-minute session. No downtime, no redness. Skin looks luminous that same afternoon.
Dermapen for texture and scars
Controlled microneedling that stimulates collagen regeneration. Perfect in autumn because the skin has time to re-epithelialise away from direct sun. Especially useful if you finished summer with uneven texture or more visible acne marks.
HIFU and laser are back on the table: September brings back two treatments we don't recommend in mid-summer. HIFU 8D for facial firmness and diode laser for hair removal can resume now, with less intense sun and enough margin to complete cycles before next summer.
The 8-week protocol people ask for most
This is the most common route we design for someone arriving at Esencia in early September:
- Week 1: MEICET diagnosis + deep-cleansing facial + first vitamin C mesotherapy.
- Week 3: first chemical peel calibrated to skin type and tone.
- Week 5: second mesotherapy (with depigmenting actives if needed) + progress review on the MEICET screen.
- Week 7: second peel or Dermapen depending on how the skin has responded.
- Week 8: final Hydrafacial + home-care routine until spring.
The cost depends on which treatments enter the combination. After the diagnosis we give you an exact, no-commitment quote: if you'd rather start small (one mesotherapy and see how it goes), that works too.
Book a MEICET diagnosis (€15) and I'll show you on-screen exactly what summer has left behind and which protocol makes sense. No pressure, just data.
What you'll actually notice in 8 weeks
- New dark spots visibly lighter (older ones need more cycles).
- More luminous, even skin — none of that dull September tone.
- Smaller-looking pores and finer texture to the touch.
- A simpler, better-fitted home-care routine — no piling up creams you don't need.
